A Biography of Disappearance, Algeria 1992–
Autograph
Omah D
In the decade following the cancellation of the general election in 1992, between 10,000 and 20,000 people disappeared in Algeria. Page upon page of faces give the reader some portent of this national tragedy. Using the testimony of the families of some of those who were lost, Omar D builds up a picture that connects the places of disappearance with the surrounding urban and rural landscapes and the lives of those who have been affected.
